How to manage stress in your life

Stress is the uninvited guest of our life. We have to deal with it. It is not difficult to find out the ways to manage our stress. But most of us do not have the time to do so. We plan to engage ourselves in stress relieving activities and end up having no time for it at the end of the day. So basically we need time, time for ourselves.

First of all we need to find out what is stealing our time. The time we are left with after work and sleep and essential routine activities, is the time we can utilize to relieve our stress. This is how stress management corelates with time management as well.
So to control our stress, we need to control the time we have.

We need to reduce the commitments that we burden ourselves with. One step we can take in this direction is to learn how to say no. “Sorry, I cannot do this.” is not an easy thing to say, especially when you are at your workplace. It can adversely affect your professional relations. But you can make your refusal sound genuine and convince the person you are declining. So be careful with the words you are choosing to refuse or you are likely to offend the other person.

People succumb to alcohol and smoking to deal with their stress. It taxes their health. Once it develops into a habit, they cannot get rid of it.
